Giving Tuesday Now

Dear friends and supporters of the Forest for Children organisation.

We would like to inform you about the ongoing and time-limited call and collection for rangers in the DR Congo. As a part of the extraordinary global call for generosity #GivingTuesdayNow, we have created this collection because nature conservation is facing difficult trials at this hard time.

One week ago, a great tragedy took place in the Virunga National Park in the Congo, when terrorists killed rangers from the national park and few civilians from local community. It is a great loss and sadness for the nature protection and especially gorillas there.

Given that we were to start the Eye of Gorilla monitoring program in the DRC this year and deeper cooperation with the reserve of primates Kisimba Ikobo and NP Maiko, and therefore also with NP Virunga, we are very personally affected by the event.

We want to express our deepest condolences and support to our fellow rangers, because we are part of a worldwide family of rangers and nature protectors, and we see this as an expression of cohesion. Please help us with this message from the Czech Republic according to your possibilities. The funds will go mainly to the families of the victims, but also to all the organizations mentioned above, which are also facing problems due to the limitations of the global pandemic. You can find more information in the project on the Darujme.cz website.

Thank you for your support and sharing.
