World Ranger Day 2021 – Costa Rica

30.8.2021

On August 30, 2021, World Ranger Day took place in Palo Verde National Park in Costa Rica.

This important and globally presented event was supported by the Forest For Children Association, which funded a lunch for 60 participants of the event. The event was attended by rangers, elementary school children, scientists from organization NAMÁ and other invited guests.

Milan Milan Jeglík presented the international activities of the Forest to Children Association, Viktor Montalvo from the NAMÁ Conservation NGOs presented monitoring of jaguars with our participation and trail cameras, and Jorge Serendero from For the Oceans Foundation presented our joint project Ambassadors for the Oceans.

The guarantor and organizer of the event was IRF Delegate for Central America Leonel Alonso Delgado Pereira, who is also a member of our Costa Rica branch of the Association Bosque para los Niños.

At the end of the event, we signed an official contract of cooperation on the Ambassadors for the Oceans project with the chairman of the For the Oceans Foundation with Jorge Serendero (ex-director of Sea Shepherd for Central America). The event was presented on the website of the International Ranger Federation, where it was successful on the international stage.
