GREEN LIFE COSTA RICA

The Green Life reserve has an area of 155.9 ha and it is possible to expand it in the future. It adjoins the El Copal Private Reserve (190 ha), which makes it possible to build a functional conservation zone in the Pejibaye – Tausito area on the border with the Tapanti National Park (583.2 km2), which is part of the most important interconnected protected area and biocorridor in Costa Rica. These are Quetsal National Park (76.5 km2), Chirripo National Park (508 km2) and La Amistad International Park (4000 km2), which then continues to Panama.

We are part of the largest animal migration route in Central America.

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE PROJECT

The current global climate situation requires real protection of rainforests on a global level. While the Forest for Children association saved 175.5 ha in Sumatra (2009-2021), we as Justice for Nature continue our green mission also in Costa Rica, where we opened the Green Life project of the same name, bought and conserved 155.9 ha of mountain misty rain forest primeval forest, which is located on the borders of NP Tapanti and creates an impact protection zone here.

Part of our activity is patrolling and monitoring activities with the help of camera traps, physical monitoring of fauna and flora (photographing), patrolling protection activities and implementation of educational programs for schools about the primeval forest. All this in cooperation with volunteers.

The main goal of this mission is the expansion of the reserve, or cooperation with others to expand the protection zone and afforestation of already deforested areas. Our main mission is to educate the new digital generation of children about the forest in the forest, its importance, threats and necessary joint protection. All project facilities draw electricity from renewable sources with the help of a solar device.
